A compilation of stories that spans the gamut of genre fiction. This book will scare entertain and amuse you. It takes you from the from the occult of Old Virgina to the world of translated beings that live beyond the stars. Thoroughly absorbing.
What a unique and interesting book! I was very interested in it from the moment that I opened the book. The cover looked very mysterious and intriguing, so I couldn’t wait to read through this one. David Martin has done a great job with this book because he used many different tactics to get the reader into the story. I felt many different emotions while reading this story which included fear, being scared, being excited, being happy, being delighted and overall I was entertained. This is a sci-fi hit that will surely get you entangled into the stories being told. I really enjoyed how this book covered everything.
There was some parts in the book that focused on the struggle of the job hunt. Being a recent graduate, I completely connected to the struggle and how hard it can be to land a job in this type of economy. I found the author to be very humanistic and to talk about things that the average human-being goes through. The book takes the history of Virginia ghost stories and puts things into perspective. New Avalon is a place where anything can happen and where dreams could come true. I found myself taken into this world and I didn’t want to come back. The author was so descriptive in the writing that I felt like I was there living in it all. The book is so beautifully-written and very entertaining.
I don’t think that I have ever read a book quite like this before, it was so entertaining and just interesting. I liked how this piece focuses on parts of our world that are similar, yet different. I think that this book is truly a worthy read that any type of reader would enjoy. This isn’t the normal genre that I would read, but I found myself so into the storyline and everything that was brought into it. It’s the type of book that really makes you think and ponder about life. I hope that this author continues to write, he is truly talented and a gift to the world of books!
